RF0401: GlobalClass requires ReckfellObject inheritance

The attribute is on an ordinary C# model rather than an engine type.

On this page

For a C# project using Reckfell.NET.Sdk 1.0.0. Fix the first build error first: later messages may be a consequence.

Cause

The attribute is on an ordinary C# model rather than an engine type.

Fix

Derive settings assets from Resource. Remove GlobalClass for ordinary models; helpers do not all need to become Entities.

Failing example

Save the file in a test C# project and run dotnet build. This version intentionally fails to build.

SettingsRF0401.cs
C#
using Reckfell;

namespace DiagnosticExamples.RF0401;

[GlobalClass] public class SettingsRF0401 { public int Value { get; set; } = 7; }

Expected messages: RF0401.

Working version

Replace the failing version with these files; do not keep both declarations in the project.

SettingsRF0401.cs
C#
using Reckfell;

namespace DiagnosticExamples.RF0401;

[GlobalClass] public partial class SettingsRF0401 : Resource { [Export] public int Value { get; set; } = 7; }

Result

SettingsRF0401 can be created as a Resource; its exported Value equals 7.

Keep the exact example filename and rebuild. GlobalClass registers an editor type; it does not create a singleton. Check the editor type dialog after a successful build and project refresh.
