RF0102: Exported type is unsupported

An ordinary List is not an engine Variant array for Export.

On this page

For a C# project using Reckfell.NET.Sdk 1.0.0. Fix the first build error first: later messages may be a consequence.

Cause

An ordinary List<int> is not an engine Variant array for Export.

Fix

Use Reckfell.Collections.Array<int> at the Export boundary. Internal calculations can keep an unexported List<int> and create snapshots explicitly.

Failing example

Save the file in a test C# project and run dotnet build. This version intentionally fails to build.

Example.cs
C#
using Reckfell;

namespace DiagnosticExamples.RF0102;

public partial class Example : Entity { [Export] public System.Collections.Generic.List<int> Values { get; set; } = new() { 7 }; }

Expected messages: RF0102.

Working version

Replace the failing version with these files; do not keep both declarations in the project.

Example.cs
C#
using Reckfell;

namespace DiagnosticExamples.RF0102;

public partial class Example : Entity { [Export] public Reckfell.Collections.Array<int> Values { get; set; } = new() { 7 }; }

Result

Values contains one element, 7. It is an engine typed collection.
