Linux: export, windows and diagnostics
Linux tasks: packaging, Wayland/X11, servers, SSH and HDR.
On Linux, check the game package, window backend and graphics driver separately. These are distinct layers: successful export does not establish target-system execution, while Wayland alone neither enables HDR nor selects a renderer.
| Task | Guide |
|---|---|
| Build and distribute a game | Linux export: architecture, templates, PCK, C# and accompanying files. |
| Choose Wayland or X11 | Window backend: project setting, CLI option and actual-backend diagnostics. |
| Run on another computer | Remote Deploy: SSH and the separate debugger connection. |
| Prepare a server build | Dedicated server: server export and windowless execution. |
| Configure extended-range output | HDR output: window, driver and display requirements. |
| Build an editor or template from source | Compiling for Linux: separate from project export. |
For an issue report, include architecture, distribution, GPU/driver, actual display backend and renderer. The Wayland/X11 guide shows how to retrieve the latter two. Do not infer the application backend from the desktop session name alone: an X11 application can run through Xwayland.
