Exporting for browsers
C# limitation
C# limitation
The current Web exporter rejects a build configuration containing the .NET module. This version has no confirmed standard Web export for C# projects. Changing renderer or installing another Web template does not remove this check. Do not plan a C# browser release as an available feature.
For a non-.NET configuration
- Use a supported non-.NET build and matching Web export templates.
- Create a Web preset. Begin with
variant/thread_support=false, without a multithreaded template configuration. - Export into a separate directory. Host all generated files together and open the page over HTTP(S), not local
file://. - Inspect browser Network and Console: assets must load without 404s, and the server must serve WebAssembly and related resources correctly.
- For threads, enable
variant/thread_support, use its matching template and configure cross-origin isolation. Verify actualSharedArrayBufferavailability; a preset flag alone is insufficient. PWA header settings do not replace checking the real host.
variant/extensions_support selects native-extension support; a Windows DLL does not automatically become WebAssembly. After loading, separately check audio after a user gesture, persistence and tab lifecycle restrictions.
A supported configuration should load without Console/Network errors. Source review establishes exporter configuration; browser builds, hosting headers and project execution were not tested here.
